I had shoulder surgery on my right shoulder. Consequently my right arm was in a sling for weeks afterward, and then once the sling was off, it still took a while before I got the use of my arm back. Since I'm very right-handed, I was pretty well immobilized. I ordered this extender so that I could buckle my seat belt myself with my left hand.
Overall, it seems to be a fairly solid product. It buckled right in to the slot on my 2004 Toyota Sienna (driver's seat) slot. When it stays buckled, it seems to be very secure. I only gave it four stars because, sometimes, it just comes unbuckled. I haven't figured out why. I'm sure it's because of something that I'm doing. Maybe the way I'm sitting is causing it to press the release itself. I don't know. When I'm trying to recreate the situation, the thing is in there like a rock. Go figure.
At any rate, with the extender, I was able to buckle my seat belt and unbuckle it, too. That afforded me a little bit of independence while my arm was out of commission. I'm out of the sling now, and physical therapy is going well. I've got quite a bit of use, now, in my right arm... so I no longer need the extender. But, I'm going to keep it in the van, just in case we ever have a need!
